Millions of Hispanics Drive to Mexico in the next 60 Days
According to the Mexican government, each year more than one million Hispanics, who primarily reside in the USA, head home to Mexico for the holidays to visit friends and family.
"The Christmas season is the most important holiday for Hispanics in general (including Mexican Americans) to travel home to visit their families," said Jorge Gamboa Patron, director Welcome Home Paisano in Los Angeles.
The number of travelers visiting Mexico has increased by about 5% this year, compared with last year, according to Mexico’s tourism board, an increase that is expected to continue through the holiday season.
If you're crossing the border, keep in mind that you must carry auto insurance for your vehicle. Go to Mexpro.com® for all your Mexico Insurance needs.

US Retirees and Snowbirds Flocking to Mexico
Crossing the border to find a better life… eight million of the 76 million US baby boomers that will soon retire are expected to head for Mexico. Cheaper housing, a more relaxed and easy going atmosphere and a 30% drop in the cost of living are just a few of the reasons why.
Retirees and Snowbirds can rent a home in luxury beach locals like Puerto Vallarta for as little as $300 per month. Retirees are even venturing into remote fishing villages and small towns in search of their piece of paradise at a reasonable cost.

Obtain Official Mexican Government Vehicle Import Permits
Vehicles driven beyond the “Free Zone” into Mexico are required to complete Vehicle Importation Paperwork. The "free zone," or "Zona Libre" is a free trade area located along Mexico’s international land borders. It continues inward into Mexico to the point where the first Mexican Customs interior checkpoint is located.
Vehicle Importation paperwork can be completed online prior to your trip at the Banjercito website. Submit the required information to the website and you will receive a pass code. Between 24 hours and 15 days of receiving your pass code, you can visit any Banjercito location to obtain your Vehicle Import Permit.

Mexico Insurer Solvency Issues
Did you know that there are less than 20 insurance companies in all of Mexico who offer Tourist Auto Insurance Coverage?
When buying your coverage from Mexico Insurers, it is important that you check the specific A.M. Best Rating, reserves, and the local environment for that insurer. For instance, A.M. Best has not rated three large Mexico tourist auto insurers. You should never buy your coverage from unrated insurers in the US, let alone Mexico!
At a time when even old stalwarts such as AIG are seeing their stock valuations decrease dramatically and are under ratings review with negative implications, it is more important than ever that you make sure you are buying your Mexico Coverage from financially stable, A.M. Best Rated insurers.
For a complete listing of Mexican Insurer's Financial Results, please visit www.mexpro.com. Mexpro® represents only carriers (or their parents) who maintain an A.M. Best A- rating or better.
