Spring Break in Baja & Sonora

Baja and Sonora have long been top destinations for North American spring breakers. There's no shortage of white sandy beaches and happening party clubs. And, the prices in Baja and Sonoran cities are affordable for college students, even those on a budget. Destinations can be driven to in just a day (maybe two), so Spring Breakers don't have to spend big bucks on a plane ticket. Since Baja and Sonora are in the Mexican free zone, a vehicle import permit is not needed. Mexican auto insurance and a bathing suite is all one will need. Tell your clients about these Spring Break hot spots in Baja and Sonora.

The numbers of students, mostly from Arizona, California or New Mexico colleges, who frequent Rocky Point (Puerto Peñasco in Spanish) for Spring Break keeps increasing. Tens of thousands of students traveled to Rocky Point for Spring break in 2010 and more are expected in 2011. The close proximity to the U.S. (60 miles from the border), large number of party spots and miles and miles of beach make it a favorite!

The Top Mistakes Made When
Purchasing Mexico Auto Insurance
Thousands of Americans plan road trips to Mexico for Spring Break. Here are the mistakes you can make when purchasing Mexico Auto Insurance for your trip.
1. Not checking the A.M. Best ratings. A.M. Best is a full-service, credit rating organization that focuses on the insurance sector. You should expect your Mexican auto insurance policy to be with companies with ratings of A++, A+, A, A-, B++ or B+.
2. Purchasing Mexican auto insurance at the border - es no bueno! A perilous by-product of forgetting about Mexican auto insurance until the very last minute is having to buy it at the border. The border is a haven for scams, so the less time you spend there, the better.
3. Underestimating the length of the Mexican auto insurance policy. Longer policies are often cheaper than shorter ones, so buying a longer Mexican auto insurance policy to cover those unexpected delays can end up saving you a good deal of money and the hassle of having to extend your policy over the phone while in Mexico.
4. Choosing a policy that does not include roadside assistance. Many Mexican auto insurance policies don't even offer roadside assistance! Many do, however, so be sure you get it.
5. Not purchasing 'vandalism' and 'partial theft' coverage. Theft and vandalism can occur no matter where you are. Be sure to add this option to your Mexican auto insurance policy to avoid costly mishaps when you are down south.
